I wish I had known him better, but it was enough to be in his presence and absorb his teaching as much as I could. His voice will always be with us.
The gang all went to Daido's memorial last Saturday while I stayed home and tended the animals. Fitting.
Both of my kids have been profoundly influenced by his teaching and by the community he fostered, and I am grateful for that. Emma in particular seems to have absorbed Daido's deep connection to nature through photography. Some of her recent images are astounding.
Maybe she'll let me post a few here one day.
